 On August 4, 2026, American Public University System combined with Rasmussen University and Hondros College of Nursing to form a single higher education institution. American Public University System (the System) now includes American Public University, American Military University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). We are continuing to update our website to reflect our new structure.

Angela Selden was appointed Chancellor of American Public University System in August 2026. She also serves as President & Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of American Public Education, Inc. and was appointed in September 2019.

Mr. David Kramer

Interim President, Hondros College of Nursing

David Kramer was named Interim President of Hondros College of Nursing in 2025, after serving more than 19 years in various leadership positions at the institution. Throughout his career at Hondros, Mr. Kramer has overseen key initiatives to open new campuses and programs, enhance operational efficiency, expand and strengthen academic programs, and improve student outcomes.
